Chicago Association of Direct Marketing Names Cyndi W. Greenglass 2012 Charles S. Downs Chicago Direct Marketer of the Year

Cyndi W. GreenglassCHICAGO – Cyndi W. Greenglass has won the 32nd Charles S. Downs Chicago Direct Marketer of the Year Award, one of the most prestigious honors bestowed by the Chicago Association of Direct Marketing.

Ms. Greenglass is founding member and senior vice president of strategic solutions at Diamond Marketing Solutions, a Bloomingdale, IL-based full-service marketing communications company that offers direct marketing strategy-to-execution services. Passionate about data-driven, research-based measurable campaigns for clients, she has won several honors for her work including the CADM Tempo and Direct Marketing Association Echo awards.

“Cyndi has proven her mettle over the years, and rightly deserves this CADM honor,” said Ron Marsh, chair of the Downs Award committee. “In addition to growing business for her clients, she has also spent considerable time to raise the stature and standards of the direct marketing profession. Indeed, Cyndi is a role model for current and aspiring direct and interactive marketers, leading from the front throughout the years.”

The Downs award is named for Charles S. Downs, late advertising director of Abbott Laboratories and a founder of CADM and its first president from 1955 to 1957. Winners must be current or former CADM members who have contributed innovations and new concepts to the practice of direct marketing, provided guidance and advice to colleagues and given his or her talents to civic and charitable works.

Ms. Greenglass met all of those criteria. She has been an advocate for responsible direct marketing, continued to mentor the next generation of direct marketing leaders and applied her 30 years of knowledge and experience to new applications in direct and interactive response.

Leading the way
Indeed, the executive is not one to rest on her laurels. She is a current member of the Direct Marketing Association’s government affairs committee and also 2009-10 president of the CADM, the leading association for direct marketers in the Midwest. She is in constant communication with government officials to help them understand the implications of state and federal regulation on direct marketing.

Ms. Greenglass has also chaired the sponsorship, Tempo and programming committees at CADM and also was the chair and founding committee member for the ELAwards and spotlight.

In addition, she is a member of the curriculum advisory committee within Northern Illinois University’s department of marketing. Not only has she addressed professional groups and students, but also contributed to several books on direct marketing, lead generation, trade show and event marketing, and database marketing.

Ms. Greenglass was included in the Top 100 Business-to-Business Marketers list for 2004 and 2006, a ranking published by Crain’s B@B magazine.

A native of Toronto, Ms. Greenglass has a B.A. from the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is currently working on her M.S. in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University. She also completed executive education courses in driving organic top line growth and women’s director development from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

The Downs award will be presented to Ms. Greenglass at the CADM Tempo Awards Gala on Wednesday, July 18, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Vertigo Sky Lounge, Dana Hotel and Spa, 660 N. State Street, Chicago, Illinois.

“Cyndi joins the rank of illustrious leaders who put others before self to promote responsible, ethical direct marketing,” said Frank Roman, president of CADM. “She has served with distinction her clients, colleagues and the direct marketing industry. We all salute her and the difference she has made.”
